Announcement: I’m becoming a public speaker!

Alyson Seligman, motivational speaker

I’m somewhat embarrassed to say that I’ve pushed something down that has been burning a fire within me for nearly two years.

I speak often to you about seeking your true joy and embracing who you are meant to be, and yet this dream of mine keeps getting pushed aside.

Well, no longer! I refuse to let another day pass.

I’ve done a handful of speaking gigs for smaller groups of 15 women to keynotes of almost 400 people. I’d feel terrified walking on the stage… but as I’d start talking — and most importantly, when I was done — I felt such joy, gratitude, honor and incredible happiness seeing the impact of my words.

It’s one of those things that sounds so, hmm, egotistical, but I don’t mean it in that way at all. I was given a set of circumstances and through my journey, I’ve learned a hell of a lot I would have never learned otherwise.

So what do I do with all of this?!

Becoming a Public Speaker

I WANT TO SHARE IT. I WANT TO EMPOWER YOU. I WANT TO MOTIVATE WOMEN TO ACTION. I WANT TO CREATE COMMUNITY. I WANT TO ENCOURAGE WOMEN TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER. AND, I WANT TO INSPIRE WOMEN LIKE YOU TO BELIEVE YOU CAN. Because I absolutely know in the deepest part of my being that you capable and fierce and strong.

So, after unofficially doing a few speaking gigs that put this fire in me I never knew I had, I’m excited to announce that I’m officially available as a motivational & personal growth public speaker. EEK!

If you’re newer here, you can learn more about my crazy story on my dedicated speaker’s site: www.alysonseligman.com.

So, Alyson, you think… what will you speak about? GOOD question!

As a public speaker I’m available talk about everything from overcoming incredible adversity (think paralysis and a rare medical condition, failed adoption, father passing away, for example), living with a chronic invisible illness, about the BS that is mommy guilt and mom shaming, and about the importance of saying no.

All topics will fold in self-care (not selfish, self care!), maybe style (even if it’s just me learning to embrace my love of jeans instead of dressing up in a way that isn’t me), plenty of awkward stories and always, my complete honesty, humor and transparency.

In addition to motivating, I always, always want women to walk away feeling like they know how they can take action in their lives. I’m not one of those fluff-type speakers that leaves you feeling overwhelmed with more questions than you started with (so frustrating). Guests can ask me questions… I have discovered that my background in PR, communications, social media, branding and business consulting give me a pretty unique ability to answer allllll the things on the spot.

I’m happy to travel and would love to start speaking to your group, workshop, seminar, conference, business, nonprofit you name it! I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d consider me, or pass my name along to someone you know who plans cool, impactful and meaningful events for women.

Again head to my site (a work in progress — but better to start than wait for perfection!), to see potential topics, testimonials, more about me and how to connect and bring me to your next event.

As I put myself out there with something new and a little scary, I hope this also encourages you to dig deep and be honest with what sets your soul on fire. Imagine where you’ll be next year if you start today.

That’s why my soul-on-fire-journey starts now. Join me.

This is such great news! Congrats! I’ve been following you for a few years and have felt that this is something you would probably be really good at! Becoming a public speaker is actually one of my goals this year as well and I’ve been working a lot on it. I can’t wait to see how this goes for you and hopefully catch one of your speeches. You are inspiring me to get a move on my plan! Thank you and good luck!

Truthfully, we overlap a little . My Mission is to help moms find their identity again after having kids – through style, finding their crew and crushing Mom-Guilt! I’m a working mom of five with a side-hustle and a love for public speaking and teaching. Can’t wait to watch you do this! I know you’ll crush it!
