The Best Lash Serum I’m Loving for Longer Looking Lashes

For anyone who covets longer lashes, it’s time to become besties with the best lash serum around. As you might recall from this post highlighting my nighttime routine, I’ve been testing out Avon’s brand new lash serum & mascara duo (serum at night, mascara during the day!) since late summer.

Unlike eyelash extensions which can look great, they’re expensive, can damage your lashes and require time-consuming upkeep. No thanks. A lash serum with regular use can give you that same lash impact by naturally boosting your own lashes.

I mentioned in my last post that I had used and liked another lash serum but it was pricey. I had been looking for a more affordable alternative that would deliver the same impact.

I partnered with Avon & started using its new Anew Clinical Unlimited Lashes Lash and Brow Activating Serum! It’s now been nearly two months… and I’m seeing growth! Plus, it’s currently on sale for $40, which is amazing because that’s less than a third of the price of comparable products.

How does lash serum work?

Think of lash serum like vitamins for your eyelashes. Avon’s serum is made with a blend of the peptide technology Capixyl, which promotes thicker, fuller, healthier-looking lashes. I also appreciate that it’s free of parabens, sulfate and phthalates (don’t want that in general, let alone anywhere near my eyes!), and is dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested, too.

How do you apply?

Lash serum goes on incredibly easily; simply swipe it on your upper lash line (like you would with liner) right before bed. Don’t put it on your lower lashes and don’t rub your eyes. That’s it. I keep it right on my night stand and you only need one dip in the container for both eyes.

Does it hurt or bother your eyes?

My eyes and surrounding eye area are incredibly sensitive. I’ve definitely had to stop using certain makeup or beauty products in the past due to burning or irritation. The first few nights I used this, I felt a little sensation (not bothersome though) and it went away after a few minutes. I’ve swiped the serum on nearly every night for the past three months and have experienced no irritation at all.

When will I see results?

With any lash serum, I know you want to see results immediately but remember you are visibly growing hair! Give it time and use it consistently. Some see results sooner than others but I started really noticing a difference around six weeks. I’m definitely seeing a difference, particularly when I wear mascara (since my lashes are so light!).

I’m excited to continue to use Avon’s lash serum because I love how my lashes look so far. The best way to see growth is nightly use.

Seeing the impact

To really see the impact, I wear Avon’s True Color Love at 1st Lash mascara daily, which contains vitamins to help strengthen and condition my lashes. I always apply mascara with a primer to help it stay put (just like you can do with a primer before foundation). Always be gentle when you take your eye make-up off so you don’t pull out lashes.

I’m also a huge fan of a newer lash treatment called “lash lifts,” which you’ve likely heard me mention a few times. A professional curls your lashes upward to really open your eye. It will really make your naturally longer, thicker-looking lashes look even more va-voom!
