When it comes to finding the perfect tote, it almost sounds like finding a needle in a haystack of that beloved unicorn. We all have so many parameters that make that “perfect tote,” well… perfect. If you’re on the hunt for the best tote bag to solve all of your needs, look no further. I’m sharing the 10 best options — based on feedback from the Savvy Squad Facebook group, my personal intel and from lots of asking around!

So what makes a great tote? Since the goal of most totes is to be able to tote around lots of stuff, I suggest looking for one that’s durable (either a leather, nylon or substantial canvas), has comfortable straps, is not too heavy, and bonus if it has at least one or two internal pockets.

Confession: I know so many women love their Louis Vuitton neverfull but I have to tell you that I don’t love mine. The straps are too thin and I realized it was causing neck and shoulder pain (even though I don’t carry around a lot). I love the look of it, but when it comes to quality and value, opt for one of these, hands down.

So here are the top 10 best tote bags for work to weekend. I have the top right canvas (on sale!) and in my eyes, Madewell can do no wrong. I equally love its leather version at the top left. Everyone in our FB group raved about MZ Wallace bags (indestructible & last forever!), and I’m eyeing that pink Rebecca Minkoff after seeing someone use it as a great travel bag (where a zipper is helpful). At the same time, Everlane and Cuyana are emerging brands known for quality at a fair price; this Cuyana wallet is on my holiday wish list.
