I’m about to take, “be sure you can wear this a few ways” style mantra to the next level. Like, serious next level.
Not only am I obsessed with this poplin skirt in general — I mean there’s rainbows, blue and white stripes and on-trend smocked material (basically everything I’m loving for spring wrapped into one piece!) — it also can be worn as a top AND a skirt.
From Beyond Proper (a huge web and catalog company I learned about from a good friend who’s a buyer for them), this 2-in-1 poplin skirt is so amazing I can’t stop wearing it. If you follow me on Instagram (if not, we must become friends!), you know this was a super popular piece during my girls trip to Nashville.
Having a fun, under $100 item like this in your wardrobe with endless options is such a game changer. By the way, I felt super cool when multiple girls complimented the skirt, one asking if it was by Petersyn. Ha, as if I’d spend $290 on a skirt (insert Alicia Silverstone saying, “as if!”). 😉
POPLIN SKIRT STYLE
For Nashville, I paired the flirty poplin skirt with denim button down — simply tied in the front for a fresh look. I equally love the idea of it a classic white tank (tucked in or knot it in the front), strappy sandals and a cross body.
When it came to styling this as a top, it was a no brainer… pair it with white denim to really makes the rainbow stitching pop. Sticking with my love affair with white accessories, I added the prettiest earrings & best, best wedges (I also have them in camel, seen here).

May 18, 2018 at 9:42 AMBoth versions look great, but my problem is how long does the elastic hold before the whole thing starts slipping down?

May 31, 2018 at 4:25 PMIt feels incredibly durable and well made so I wouldn’t have that reservation. I can see a cheaper construction could cause an issue.
