The Best Summer Handbags

The Best Summer Handbags by popular Florida blogger, The Modern Savvy

Ah, purses! They can seriously make an outfit and provide a major refresh to even the most classic/basic looks. I love how my new colorful tote totally updates my basic tee & jeans, for example.

Add a colorful and playful clutch to a white tank and jeans, and you instantly have an outfit that will score you compliments. Pop a cute round cross body on that striped dress in your closet and your outfit is instantly on-trend and ready to go. Swap out your go-to black purse for a blush or nude — both neutrals that go with your black and navy outfits — and your outfit instantly feels lighter and more spring ready.

Take a look at these spring and summer handbags. Most items are under $100, and everything is under $300 (I think only 2-3 are between $100-$300 but they are too good to leave out!).

The guide is organized so it’s easy to review what you need: clutches, cross body bags, casual totes, circular purses, leather/faux leather totes and more structured purses.

Also note: I personally don’t love purses with brand names (unless they’re designer 😉 ) — pom pom details, a cute raffia clutch, or a classic leather/vegan leather bag looks super chic without immediately identifying your price point. Anyway, hope that’s not crass to say and that you know what I mean! With this in mind, I’ve been loving the brand Madewell (owned by J. Crew, though I buy it at Nordstrom when possible because it’s easier for customer service). The quality is excellent and most leather bags are under $200. I wear this cross body (in english saddle) daily, and recently purchased this super durable canvas tote for weekends/travel.
