Perhaps a first-world problem but all this warm weather in Florida has really put a damper on my cute and cozy winter style. For the past two seasons I’ve wanted a pair of over-the-knee boots but couldn’t justify with these warmer temperatures. Lately, though I decided otherwise; now that they’re more mainstream (compared to perhaps a bit risque or sexy when they first became big), I love seeing bloggers and real women style them with dresses and skirts, giving that little bit of leg show (you can also wear with tights).
In warmer climates, don’t assume if you’re wearing boots that it needs to be in freezing temperatures and paired with a chunky knit. I purchased these by Blondo during a Black Friday weekend sale and have already worn then a half-dozen times, including with a tee and jacket as seen here. Even with the jacket off (or something tied at your waist), the look is super cute and yet weather appropriate. Find a light-weight pair like this so it doesn’t trap too much heat and go for it.
PS: unrelated but for my local readers… see that restaurant behind me called Aaron’s Table? It’s SO good. I’m in Abacoa in Jupiter, Fla., and the restaurant is a new favorite. Try the avocado fries, and the shrimp, and get the charcuterie plate. I could go on. 😉
Get the look:
Tee: Socialyte (long sleeve version)
Jacket: Target (old; similar)
Denim: J. Brand (I frayed the hem; try this version — my friend has and loves; fits TTS)
Boots: Blondo (on sale, and waterproof!)
Purse: Louis Vuitton
Tassel charm: Target
