My wedding rings have been feeling dirty for a while so in my research (i.e. work time procrastination/google search) to find an effective clean in decent comparison to a jewelry store, I’m excited to share these super easy ideas. A number of sites mention you can easily use a steam espresso machine (and enjoy some caffeine at the same time!), using a pair of tongs or chopsticks to hold your ring so you don’t burn your fingers. So basically, I’m now totally interested in making espresso at home, and steam cleaning all my jewelry. I have a travel steamer I’m tempted to test.
In the interim, I did this in 5 minutes and for well, three minutes of effort, I highly recommend:
A drop of soap, and a bowl of warm water
Inexpensive, quick and effective results to clean your jewelry. Just take a small bowl, fill it with hot water, mix in 1-2 drops of dishwashing soap, and place the ring in the bowl for 5 minutes. When done, switch the soapy water with a bowl of plain hot water and rinse the ring in the bowl for 10-15 seconds. Just be careful holding the ring if it’s slippery — I’m clumsy so the thought of sink drains and your ring makes me cringe with nervousness! Dry the ring off with a soft towel.
