How to Create a Fun Kid’s Table for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving can be a little hectic between meal prep, kids running around, catering to relatives, trying to be social and then actually cooking the feast. To get the kids on board, give them their own table…and make it fun!

Wait, weren’t we just at the kid’s table?  It seems like yesterday that we were.  Anyway…

Get the kids involved and let them help you decorate.  Kids love having simple tasks, so let them put the (paper) plates around and put the straws in the cups.

An activity can be a great way to keep them occupied throughout the long meal.   Coloring the tablecloth is fun…how cute is this festive one I saw in-store at Target (can’t find online)? Not a sponsored post here or anything; just saw all of this and loved it too much to share! Scatter crayons around, or put them in cute plastic cups.  The kids will love it (and you can relax with a glass of vino!).DSC_0838Remember, holidays are about family, relaxing… and some good foods. Don’t overthink it. Get cute inexpensive plates, cups and napkins to make it feel like a little party, and then call it a day.  Paper is a great option.  Nothing gets broken and easy clean-up!

By the way, place cards are great for adults and little ones. Kid’s love having their own assigned place to sit.  You can even have them practice their handwriting by doing the cards themselves.
