Did you know that a wardrobe for your concealer is a thing? A newer beauty trend, “concealer wardrobing” means using multiple concealers to address targeted skin concerns — dark circles, dark spots, redness, highlighting, blemishes, etc. Before you get stressed that this sounds time consuming, hold up; I’ve had a few concealers that I use daily — long before I knew concealer wardrobing was a thing! — and I promise you I have a pretty speedy routine.
I’m teaming up today with Ulta Beauty to share with you my concealer wardrobe to create a natural, flawless and flattering (but not over-done!) look. I recently did an after work ‘concealer wardrobing’ touch-up after work before an evening event. My make-up had been on since 7:30 am and clearly needed a refresher. I typically bring a few concealers, along with mascara and lipstick, in my little leopard pouch for a three-minute update.
BEFORE:
WHAT I USE:
it! Cosmetics CC cream (travel size): I discovered this brand last year and often apply this 50 SPF CC cream, with a brush each morning (applied with a sponge in the picture). Put on or two squirts on your hand and go from there. It’s easy to layer for the right coverage.
Benefit’s Fake Up: use this under your eyes for a flawless, natural finish! It’s a must if you have dry skin. This product has a cool moisturizing stick surrounding the concealer so you’re applying both at the same time, minimizing any dryness or caky look. Each morning, I put a swipe of Laura Mercier finishing powder (similar to this) to set it so there’s absolutely no creasing. Miracle.
NYX Concealer: your universally helpful concealer! I often use this under my eyes but it’s light enough for any touch-ups later in the day when I’m not applying foundation.
Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer: use this for redness. I’m pretty confident this stuff can cover up just about everything. I’ve used it to cover redness from blemishes and even a small scar.
NYX Wonder Pencil: I’ve raved about this so many times because this thing really is a wonder! Check out my uses for it below: draw around your nose to totally wipe away any redness, around your lips for a nude lip liner, and even on the lower rim of your eye — it makes you look instantly more awake! It’s seriously the best $5 on a beauty product you’ll ever spend.
Check out the wonder pencil at work… seriously drawing away any redness.

Have you tried concealer wardrobing, or any concealers you’ve found major success with?

November 5, 2015 at 4:52 PMOK, I’m going to check out the Benefit one. I’ve used their Boing in the past which I liked, but found it a bit too sheer, but this one you’ve mentioned sounds like exactly what I’ve been looking for as far as the moisturizing component. The concealers I currently have in my rotation mostly give the effect of overly-highlighted little slabs of very cracked porcelain under my eyes!! There’s got to be a better look haha 😉

November 6, 2015 at 11:54 AMHa, yes, absolutely try this one! I learned about it from Kim of Penny Pincher Fashion who mentioned the moisturizing component, which I love, yet it still provides coverage. If you have that cracked effect, try a translucent powder over it. Swear this has changed my life. I use Laura Mercier and apply it with a brush only for this product (otherwise shadow residue can cause coloring underneath). It lasts forever and has been a savior.

November 5, 2015 at 9:09 AMI loooove concealer. As a super fair girl, any discoloration is really easy to notice on me. I love the Maybelline Age Rewind in brightener. I’ve also been using the Maskcara IIID foundation for the past couple months and her linen shade concealer/foundation is amazing!!
