I think most of us can agree that the Spanx faux leather leggings are a wardrobe VIP. The love affair is real. Actually, I’ve seen that women either love them or just don’t get it at all. I’m personally in the love-them category. I wear my Spanx faux leather leggings all the time, with travel actually being among my favorite times to wear them.
Funny enough, I’m not the girl who wears leggings often but here’s why I love the Spanx leggings:
Also, as a Florida girl, I love how they give me that fall/winter feel without the bulk/weight/heat.
Infinite numbers of ways to dress them up or down.
Man, they suck you in! LOL, facts ladies. They are so suction-y (is this a word?) that you might hold them up and be like, umm, no way is this fitting over my calf, and then, poof, before you know if, they’re on and you feel on fire. They’re also a really impressive higher rise so there’s no worry ever of things hanging over. Tight low rise leggings? Should not exist.
WHERE TO BUY: Nordstrom is my top pick thanks to free shipping & returns (and they are always price matching directly on its site if another site marks them down).
BUDGET-FRIENDLY ALTERNATIVES: This pair from Target has solid reviews, and for somewhere in the middle, try this pair, which has a slightly more pants vibe. And, if you want a brand alternative, I have friends obsessed with this pair by Commando.
I recently shared how I styled my Spanx over on Instagram however if you missed it, thought it would be helpful to share here. One caveat: you’ll notice quite a few items I’m wearing are not new; rather showing you how I can pull pieces from my closet — some new and some 5+ years old — to make the outfit feel current. Never feel compelled to purchase unless you realize it’s a piece you’re missing in your wardrobe. When possible, I’ll include a similar item so you can replicate the look.
Here’s are five ways to style the Spanx faux leather leggings (or any leggings you darn well please):
How to Style Spanx Leggings
WITH AN OVERSIZED SWEATER
I love the idea in cooler weather to pair your leggings with an oversized sweater for the weekend or a casual work environment. This color block version is a favorite new find from this season — and under $30 on Amazon. It’s not too light/not too heavy, and looks equally cute with a pair of jeans and booties. I’d also pair this with my Adidas superstar sneakers for a more casual look.

WITH A SPORTY VIBE
Grab your favorite sporty tunic, hoodie or sweatshirt, some comfy sneaks and call it a day. It’s a great alternative to jeans or typical leggings; the faux leather vibe instantly upps the look with the same level of comfort.

WITH A CLASSIC DENIM JACKET AND TEE
You can never go wrong when you pair a denim jacket and white tee with just about anything. I knotted the tee though you can easily leave it out to better cover the bum! This also would be so cute with a longer striped tunic, topped with the denim jacket and even a scarf if you’re in cooler weather.

WITH AN OFF-THE-SHOULDER TUNIC
Casual yet cute, right? I love a longer tunic, and these wedge sneakers continue to be a blog reader favorite; they come in a ton of colors and prints and are impressively comfortable! I’ve had this tunic for a few years… it’s so easy to replicate this look with whatever you have in your closet.

FOR A NIGHT OUT
Get the glam out, ladies! I love sparkle and instead of your go-to jeans, swap them out for these or any leggings, and in this case I paired it with over-the-knee boots. This top is from Gap a few years ago however I recently purchased this sequin top from Amazon — and it’s SO good! I got it in black though the rainbow options are a lot of fun too.
