What is holding you back from living the life you want, from the live you deserve, from that life that when you look back years from now, you’ll be so filled with pride?
Stop for a second.
This is a hard question. Or at least sometimes a hard one to be honest about answering.
We fill our days with so much busy that it’s easy to avoid and ignore these big questions.
But it’s taking the time to think and be honest with yourself that will ultimately enable you to live fully into the life you deserve, the life you are destined for, and the life this world needs from you.
Do you listen to your heart?
Do you have a dream sitting back there, afraid to let it rise beyond your heart and say it aloud because it will make it real?
I hear you sister. I did the same, letting my dream of speaking in public — a dream I didn’t even realize I had until someone else asked me to speak in public! — came to the surface.
And then you know what I did?
I sat on it… for TWO YEARS.
Two years of my life gone. I can’t get it back, but I refuse to let another day go by.
So I am here now, today. And today is better than starting tomorrow.
No one else will care as much about your dreams as you do. They’ll support you and show up for you, but only after you start showing up for yourself.
SO WHAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK?
Do you think you don’t deserve it?
That’s a lie. Don’t let yourself believe it. You are worthy.
Do you think you’ll fail?
Quite possibly, but failing means you’re trying, and that’s the only way to move forward and find success. We talk about this often with our kids so I know that if they can understand what failing really means, so can you.
Do you think others will judge you?
Fact: they will. But they’re going to talk about you or something anyway so let them waste their time while you focus on you. Do you want to look back years from now and realize you didn’t live into who you are meant to be because Karen over there didn’t think you could do it? Or because some relative was supposedly trying to protect you from failure, when really it was their own fears at play?
It’s time to stop playing small when you were meant to play big.
Each day that passes is another day you are letting life pass you by without being honest with yourself about what you deserve.
And if you have something deep in your being that you are not admitting to yourself, that you’re letting fester for any of these reasons, it’s time to stop.
We all only have one life. And we cannot go back in time.
I sure as hell am not going to let one more day pass without moving toward what lights my soul on fire.

It’s time you do the same.
