Do You Believe in Zodiac Signs?

I’ve always just nodded, smiled and sort of moved along when someone made a reference to them being like their zodiac sign. Sure, whatever.

But maybe not whatever.

Do you believe in zodiac signs? Are you someone who is accurately categorized by their zodiac sign?  I am very much a novice but the older and more attune to who I am at my core, the more I’m realize I am very much like my zodiac sign.

This of course comes with pros and cons… do you want to admit this is really you? Over the centuries, the twelve signs of the zodiac — a fundamental principle of astrology — provides its own distinctive characteristics, with strengths and weaknesses. It’s clear no sign is perfect but together, they create a powerful whole.  While you likely aren’t everything your sign suggests, it could be a powerful look at your identity.

So, want to guess my zodiac sign?

If you know me, it might be no surprise that I’m an Aries. We are characterized as independent and a leader, with lots of energy (and often impatient), inner strength and someone who values honesty and loyalty. If you want to get something done, find an Aries. I consider myself many of these traits, and am mindful that they can pose equal challenges.

And reading the challenges about an Aries is like reading about myself: “The world according to an Aries makes so much sense that they have a hard time listening to, much less accepting, alternative viewpoints. Slowing down is also tough.” Oh, and moody and short-tempered. See mom… I just can’t help myself. 😉

The zodiac signs & their descriptions

Aries (March 21- April 20): Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. Those who are Aries are independent and courageous. They enjoy leading others and bringing excitement into the lives of others. An Aries is enthusiastic and very goal-oriented.

Taurus (April 21- May 21): Taurus are solid and fight for what they want. A Taurus is very easy going and is always available to listen, but can also be stubborn. Although initially they may have their own best interest at heart, they are ultimately and endlessly generous with their time, possessions and love.

Gemini (May 22- June 21): Smart, flexible and dynamic, they are known for having many sides that to come can feel hot and cold. They are also known to be social and expert communicators, who also love love.

Cancer (June 22- July 22): Emotional, intuitive and practically psychic; Cancers have so much going on in its watery depths. These traditionalists enjoy home life and once they make the decision to become friends with someone, that person has a friend for life.

Leo (July 23- August 21): Blessed with high self esteem, Leos are  bold, intelligent, warm, devoted and courageous. A natural leader of the Zodiac, Leos tend to be vocal about their opinions and the first to self praise, but they’re also often correct.

Virgo (August 22- September 23): Virgos are constantly analyzing, thinking and interested in learning. They enjoy have excellent memories, and are interested in bettering themselves and those around them.

Libra (September 24- October 23):  Libras are known for their diplomatic nature… they’re all about balance, justice, equanimity and stability. They get along well with everyone and excel at making compromises.While Libras look confident on the outside, their ongoing question is, “who am I?”

Scorpio (October 24- November 22):  Scorpios are unafraid to blaze their own trail and are characterized as passionate, independent and bold. They like to question everything and work hard at making sense of things. Scorpios treat others with kindness and loyalty.

Sagittarius (November 23- December 22): The philosopher of the signs, they have a great ability to focus and are always on a quest for knowledge. They must channel their energy or they will waste time and wear themselves out. They are also considered an adventurer, and creative.

Capricorn (December 23- January 20): Those who are Capricorns are marked by their ambitious nature. They are smart, hardworking and achieve their goals. Natural rule followers, they also thrive on order and structure.

Aquarius (January 21- February 19): Aquarians present themselves in one of two ways. One on hand, you’ll see someone who is shy, and quiet. On the other, an Aquarian can be boisterous, eccentric, and energetic. They also often humanitarian and original, and require quiet time to recharge.

Pisces (February 20- March 20): The last sign, they are often recognized as being understanding, compassionate, sensitive, wise and reserved. They’re also not likely to be a leader and have to be careful or they’re overly trusting nature can cause them to fall victim.
