I’ve always just nodded, smiled and sort of moved along when someone made a reference to them being like their zodiac sign. Sure, whatever.
But maybe not whatever.
Do you believe in zodiac signs? Are you someone who is accurately categorized by their zodiac sign? I am very much a novice but the older and more attune to who I am at my core, the more I’m realize I am very much like my zodiac sign.
This of course comes with pros and cons… do you want to admit this is really you? Over the centuries, the twelve signs of the zodiac — a fundamental principle of astrology — provides its own distinctive characteristics, with strengths and weaknesses. It’s clear no sign is perfect but together, they create a powerful whole. While you likely aren’t everything your sign suggests, it could be a powerful look at your identity.
So, want to guess my zodiac sign?
If you know me, it might be no surprise that I’m an Aries. We are characterized as independent and a leader, with lots of energy (and often impatient), inner strength and someone who values honesty and loyalty. If you want to get something done, find an Aries. I consider myself many of these traits, and am mindful that they can pose equal challenges.
And reading the challenges about an Aries is like reading about myself: “The world according to an Aries makes so much sense that they have a hard time listening to, much less accepting, alternative viewpoints. Slowing down is also tough.” Oh, and moody and short-tempered. See mom… I just can’t help myself. 😉
I’m really curious about digging in a little here and thought for a Wellness Wednesday post, you would be as well. Keep reading; would love to know if you agree with this.

The more you delve into astrology, the more insights you will glean. Your Sun Sign is your essential nature. Your Moon sign governs your emotional core and your Ascendant sign is your public facade. To accurately determine your Ascendant, you need to know the exact time and location of your birth. Fortunately, there are many sites where you can get a complete birth (Natal) chart online for free. That usually includes a cursory description of all of the Aspects, Houses, Planets, etc. Astrology can be a deep study or just hitting the high spots. It is totally up to you.
If you really want to get granular, check out the Oriental Horoscope (it is by year and element, 60 year cycle overall) and combine it with the Western. For example, I am an Aquarian Water Dragon with Moon in Scorpio and a Gemini Ascendant. If you combine the Western and Eastern Horoscopes, there are 144 basic signs (720 if you take into account the elements) instead of 12, which makes a lot more sense and gives you a comeback for Astrology skeptics who claim that there is no way everyone falls into 12 categories. Suzanne White did an excellent book combining the two called the “The New Astrology”. I highly recommend it as a starting point. Hopefully it is still in print. https://www.suzannewhite.com/new-astrology Here is a quick site to determine your Chinese sign//element. https://www.yourchineseastrology.com/five-elements.htm
