Alyson’s Obsessions // April 2018

Hey there and happy April! The year is too quickly flying by; I find myself panicked that I haven’t finished summer travel/camp planning so it’s a goal to handle in the next two weeks. In the meantime, I’m back sharing a handful of items I’m absolutely obsessed with this month. And on a similar note, if you ever want to see what I’m shopping from Amazon, you can do so on my Amazon shop page… so convenient!

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Have you seen this show? It’s sooooo good. The premise is a 1950s housewife in New York City whose businessman husband is a struggling comedian by night. Turns out though, she has a knack for stand-up comedy. Miriam “Midge” Maisel, played by Rachel Brosnahan, is so incredibly talented, with perfect comedic timing and the captivating voice of a Type A, problem solving Jewish girl from New York. It has earned lots of awards and just got picked up for another season on Amazon. Watch it!

Kiehl’s Line Reducing Concentrate (here)

Absolutely the best beauty product I’ve tried in a really, really time. I’ve been super frustrated with lines around my forehead so started using this and after just even one day, my skin started looking so much better. My lines have gotten less noticeable and my skin is starting to look smoother.

I don’t want to sound like some crazy blogger, but ladies… buy this and thank me later. (the reviews show equal adoration!). It has 12.5% vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, which is likely what makes it so effective.

I think what makes it work so well is that it’s got 12.5% vitamin C. I’ve tried so many vitamin C serums (obsessed) and have never seen one with more than 10% vitamin C. I apply it each morning, and then wait at least a few minutes before putting my face oil and then make-up on. Nightly, I aim to let it soak in for at least 10 minutes before my face oil.

Find it at Nordstrom or Sephora.

Adidas Cloudfoam sneakers (here)

I needed (err, ok, wanted!) a pair of sneakers for our recent NYC trip that weren’t my running shoes. I have these Brook’s and they’re AMAZING but I wanted something a little cooler for daily treks around the city. I popped into a DSW, and besides needing to exert insane self control because the sandal situation was so good, I couldn’t get over these Adidas Cloudfoam sneakers that are SO cute, so comfy and still felt good after three solid days walking around New York City.

Legit feels like you’re walking on clouds and they’re so incredibly light-weight as well (the box feels like you’re picking up air). Can’t say enough good things… AND, through today, DSW has 20% off your purchase.

You can find these sneaks at DSW here, plus, check out these footwear finds I’m loving from DSW… all 20% off through today!

NARS Power Pack (BEST DEAL!)

If you follow here for a while you know I have confessed my obsession for NARS power pigment in the American Woman color; it’s gorgeous, universally flattering and stays on your lists without drying. You can try the full size here, however while at Sephora in New York I stumbled across this mini pack deal where you can get the best-selling American Woman along with a gorgeous nude called Le Freak.

Find it here.*

*Best of all, it’s now Sephora Spring Bonus time. Popsocket (here)

I’ve shared an older popsocket once before but I get at least a dozen questions weekly (whenever I post a selfie!) about what I’m using to hold my phone. It’s a pop socket — this one being so cute and metallic. At just $15, it’s such an easy way to hold your phone and avoid your pinky holding it up. Plus, you can use it as a kick-stand to watch videos. I had one with a design but without sounding absurd, I love that this one goes with everything. #bloglife

Heard about Kiehl’s Line Reducing Concentrate from a friend, I’ve been thinking of trying it myself. Anyway, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel sounds like a fun show. I might check that out. Thanks for the recommendations dear.

If you’re seeing fine lines and wrinkles, I would highly suggest… the current Sephora sale could be a good opp!

I loved Mrs. Maisel! I probably watched it in less than a week. There are so many great things working for it, I can’t wait for next season.

It’s honestly the best product I’ve tried to reduce these wrinkles and the bottle is a good size.
