Outfit: Bold Floral

When it’s 95 degrees outside — not an exaggeration — breezy dresses and outfits without a lot of fuss are critical. As much as you know I’m a denim girl, it’s fun to put on a great dress, heels, one or two pieces of jewelry and head out the door for the night.

This dress, part of Banana Republic’s summer collection, is so pretty. I loved the bold floral print and had a hard time in the fitting room deciding between this and its midi wrap version that’s beautiful and shows just a hint of leg when you walk. I was literally getting opinions in the fitting room but ultimately knew that this shorter length was more me and could easily work with flip flops or dress up like this for date night.

A few weeks earlier I was in the store and fell in love with this knotted choker (seriously, ask my friend, Ceci, who witnessed my nerdiness), yet decided to pass because me, a choker? Am I that cool? They’re back in a big way, and I loved this sophisticated take on the trend. Well, you know those things you don’t purchase and dream about? I might have shoved this necklace into an online purchase at Gap and Old Navy for bathing suits for the kiddies (sshhhh, our secret!).
