I’ve been having this strange closet balance between only wanting to invest in better quality pieces (quality over quantity!) and then randomly finding the best pieces at Target and Forever 21. I’m such a walking contradiction.
I recently had one of those Target trips where I brought 74 items into the fitting room and zero worked. Well, I walked out with one because I was too embarrassed not to take anything, and sheepishly put it back myself. Anyway, after that I saw this denim skirt and immediately fell in love with the longer length, frayed hem and flattering silhouette that would work for a variety of body types. I tossed this one in my cart, grabbed a fitted striped tee, and figured I’d test it at home.
I’m so glad I came across this skirt, part of the Who What Wear collection. Denim anything is so on trend, and easily looks like something that would cost $100+. So many of the skirts are that 90s style with buttons down the front but that terrifies me… anyone else afraid that their underwear (and more!) is one pop away from the public?!
This outfit is ideal for a casual work environment and could go nighttime with my favorite Topshop camisole and strappy heels. Or, add a blazer, or a button down for a more professional spin.
Tee: Mossimo ($9; wearing size small) // Skirt: Who What Wear // Wedges: Target (old; similar here and open toed) // Necklace: Alexandra Gioia // Tote: Nordstrom (it’s reversible & under $50) // Sunglasses: Ray-Bans // Midi Ring: Gorjana // Earrings: Shashi // Phone Case: ban.do (the glitter moves!) // Lips: Fresh, in tulip // Hair: styled myself using this (swear if I can do it, you can too!).

April 16, 2016 at 8:50 AMI totally get the dilemma between wanting a refined closet, but not being able to resist every new bargain item you see. I’ve more or less come to peace with the idea that my closet will always be overflowing.
I love the idea of a longer denim skirt, and I’m with you, those buttons are frightening!
Glad at the end of you shopping trip you ended up with pieces that work.
Also, best iphone case ever!
