Hey all! Can’t believe the holidays and New Year has come and gone, and we’re already half way into January. I’m on a mission this year to really focus, to be present, to give my time and attention to less people and causes that matter more. I try to often to do to many things, to say yes, to hang out with everyone and be inclusive. And while that’s all well and good, I have realized more and more I’m not building and sustaining meaningful relationships with those who matter most, who I love spending time with, and who it’s clear enjoy my company.
I’m back again sharing my favorite random things/obsessions for January. I love that you guys love this series, too — it’s fun sharing a mix of randomness that doesn’t really have a home elsewhere on TAGG! Let me know what you think about these, and if you have any fun obsessions this month…
Younger. OMG. My friend, Jenny, told me about this TV Land show on Friday and I fully watched the entire first season and start to the second already. I know the network is random but promise it’s so fun! It’s a 30-minute comedy about this 40-year old newly divorced mom of one who finds her self seemingly unemployable due to her “old age.” She pretends to be 26, lands a job as an assistant at a publishing house, gets befriended by Kelsey (played by Hillary Duff) and lands the freaking hottest boyfriend. Promise you’ll be addicted. (I found it On Demand).
Trader Joe’s Marcona Almonds with Rosemary & Sea Salt. Holy heaven. Another friend find (thanks, Beth!), these taste like foccacia bread…. without all the carbs. They are addictively good… it’s a problem for my self control! Apparently the Marcona almond, a whiter, crunchy nut, is grown on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. This easy recipe looks like an awesome dupe, and if you are curious what these are, Amazon is selling them (though, with a slightly absurd mark-up. #desperatetimes).
Ann Taylor lace-up heels. These are so good in person and unbelievably comfy! These real suede heels come in three colors (black, navy and grey) and are currently selling fast at 70% off (along with a ton more clearance!). I ordered a few things recently from AT, including this (got size S) and this (the size 2P was perfect), and I have been obsessed with everything… the quality, the style, fabrics and flattering cuts. The heels are pretty true to size, however if you’re between sizes, I recommend sizing down. It’s the perfect, stylish heel you can wear all-year-long, and the 3 1/2 heel height still flatters, while making it possible to break it down on the dance floor all-night-long (or enjoy a stroll — your call!). Lace-ups are everywhere, from flats to heels and booties… these are perfection.
Article: 7 Harsh Truths that will make you a More Powerful Person. I have a love/hate with this article but at the end of the day it’s insanely true. My dad told me many years ago that people always think of themselves first so I need to do the same. I thought it was crass and wrong but it’s kind of true. Even the nicest people unintentionally typically do what’s best for them and their world. And, the first one is incredibly true, both in relationships and in the work place. The more we are honest with ourselves about others actions the more we can find content and happiness in our own self.
Threshold by Target faux fur throw. My brother and I joke about this blanket that it’s a guaranteed sleep inducer. “Another victim,” as we share sleeping photos. It’s hysterical. Available in three colors (though I think some are out of stock right now), it’s so insanely cozy and a fraction of the price of similar by brands like Pottery Barn. The Threshold collection actually has a number of really stylish, on-trend blankets and throws with great patterns, details like tassels and more. Highly recommend!
This work space, featured on Office Stylist. My love affair with all things white, gold and pink have me utterly smitten with this chic workspace. It’s so good. From the gold book shelves to the fun gallery wall, entrepreneur Megan Ward knows how to create an inspiring space!
