Alyson’s Obsessions // October

Holy October! We’re more than half way through it, and despite Florida’s 80 degree temperatures, I’m so ready to embrace all that Fall has to offer, even if we have to fake it here a little. My monthly edit — you know, my monthly list of a random assortment of stuff on my brain — is as random as ever, because well, my brain is always all over the place! Renaming it Alyson’s Obsessions, because, well, that’s the truth.

Amazing Loft Makeover: When it comes to homes, I’m all about cozy spaces but ones that are also contemporary, and great geometric, modern lines. My talented friend Jenni of I Spy DIY has created the most incredible, well-edited loft space that I am so, so excited she finally shared with Domino Mag. She’s been posting like peeks on Instagram and I’m always so enamored….. SO worth seeing. (how cute are her on-the-wall planters?!)

 

ASOS striped tee. I purchased this tee on a whim after having it in my cart for weeks. A blogger recommended another tweed top (sadly, a total fail!) and this $17.50 pushed me over the $50 threshold for free shipping. I love, love, love the flattering yet slouchy/cozy fit and that, while I’m all about Gap and Old Navy, that it’s just a little bit different than what others have. Pssst: ASOS has free returns.

Yaso Mint Chocolate Chip Greek Yogurt Bars: Holy heaven! I’m not sure how we discovered this (I’m not a big greek yogurt fan) but the frozen kind with mint and chocolate ships? A-freaking-mazing. The sea salt caramel comes in a close second place, and at 100 calories or less each, it’s a totally satisfying dinner treat without packing on unnecessary calories before bed. Game changer.

The Chic Site. If you follow me on Facebook you’ve probably seen me share a post or two of Rachel’s. I adore her, and whether or not she likes it, she’s definitely my blog icon. I discovered her about three months ago and admire how she’s equally real, honest, smart, driven, family and community oriented. It’s how I live my life and share to demonstrate on TAGG, so hope you get to know her as well!

Snapchat: ok, ok, I’m like two decades older than most people using it, and perhaps you are too, but promise it’s a lot of fun… once you figure it out. It took me a bit, and honestly, I kind of love it because there’s not a ton of people my age watching my snaps (i.e. either short videos or photos that you can draw on or add filters). Nate Berkus Gold File Folders: You guys know that the Nate Berkus collection at Target never fails and his office collection is no exception. I recently splurged on these fun gold file folders and I have not felt so good about a $5 purchase in a long time. Crazy, right? I use my folders constantly so it’s an instant happy upgrade every time I see them in a fun gold print compared to my boring old manila ones.
