Girls’ nights — staying in or going out — are one of my favorite things in the world. With the right mix, a comfortable atmosphere, some great drinks and good conversation, there are far few better things. Just don’t make the group too big. I recently read the most hysterical article about large group dinner birthday parties, which nearly everyone hates, right? So many people, a crazy bill, lots of logistics. I’m a much bigger fan of smaller groups, or pay-your-own-tab wine bars where every can mingle, and it’s super low maintenance for everyone.
I had the most freaking fun last week during a GNO to Melting Pot, which I hadn’t been to in years. I mean, how can you have a bad time with cheese and chocolate fondues, half-price glasses of wine and fab girlfriends?! Fool proof. The timing was perfect, as I went the night I posted the most recent Vent Sesh (loving your comments so much; we’re clearly all in this together)… the night boosted my mood in such a major way.
For an easy summer night, I went for this adorable new Topshop tank that I purchased on a whim after a few of you mentioned how much you love it. Thank you! At under $30 and available in a dozen colors, it’s the perfect, flattering tank with all the right details. To transition to fall, simply top it with a blazer or cozy cardigan. I can see myself wearing this camisole with a pencil skirt or slacks, too.
By the way, when it comes to GNO’s I typically come from work so I’ve become pretty adept at packing my things in a roomy tote in the early a.m., including my outfit (blouse usually stays on the hanger), jewelry options and make-up (as long as it fits in my little travel case, I usually bring extra options so I don’t freak over a bangle I just neeeeeeeeeded). #firstworldproblems

August 19, 2015 at 2:31 PMYou look so summery and tropical. I gotta move to a better climate! Even though it’s pretty tropical up here, I know everyone is thinking of what’s to come.
Did you ever get Botox? If you did, it would be nice if you shared your feelings and experiences. So many people just get stuff done or talk about it and we’re supposed to guess if they just look great naturally and feel bad about ourselves or whatever else…Yeah, I was the one not sold on it. It’s obvious on some people, some report issues after having it for abt 10 years or so…But I may need it. I don’t want it, but maybe I won’t be able to stand myself anymore if everyone else has it…

I love dressing up for girls night out, too — let’s face it, our friends are the ones who really notice the effort. I’m totally going to copy this, it’s perfection.
