Outfit: Flamingo tank

When it comes to summer style, having a few fun tanks and tees in your arsenal feels like an absolute must. Flamingos, pineapples, watermelons, anchors, sailboats… all equal summer fun! Tees & tanks like this can be found at a variety of price points though I definitely splurged on this Chaser tank (though I did get it during a weekend sale).  I absolutely loved the oversized flamingos and ultra light weight cotton. It’s like how you feel around the holidays with a few key festive tops (for example, can’t stop thinking about these mega-on-sale Chaser sweatshirts for December; will I have FOMO this winter?).

Tanks & tees like this are often based with denim: try your denim shorts, or if you feel uncomfortable in cut-offs test out a pair of distressed denim like this pair from Gap. I used to think this style was best suited for those under 30 – and yup, my dad used to joke about how I’d actually pay money for pants that came all ripped! — but they add that casual vibe, especially in a lighter wash, and they, the holes create some much needed summer air conditioning for your legs.

My mirrored sunglasses love affair runs deep; I love how this clear framed pair from Abaco makes my outfit pop. Plus, they’re ultra durable (and not too pricey) so they can stand up to the kids… ok, and my daily clumsiness/tossing them in my bag. It is nice blaming the kids though! ;).
