This Hanukkah gifts post is brought to you in partnership with #BabbleBoxx.
Wow, holiday shopping is starting early this year! I’m excited to share with you over the next few weeks a couple of gift guides for everyone on your wish list — you know I love my creative gift ideas (here). I know so many of us are shopping for kiddos — either ours or nieces, nephews, cousins, for local toy drives, etc — so let’s have some fun sharing some of the best gifts at all price points for the fantastic kiddos on your list.
I’m partnering with BabbleBoxx who helped curate this really cool, diverse set of gifts that really hits all the age groups. I would have never known about all of these and am so happy I now do… as are Sarah and Evan, as you can see in the happy photos here! I totally get that gifts are not one-size-fits-all and these definitely hit so many ages and interests.
So let’s do this.
Here are some of our favorite Hanukkah gifts for kids for 2019….
AMERICAN GIRL DOLL & ACCESSORIES
Go big or go home, right? For the ultimate Hanukkah gift, the American Girl Rebecca doll is just that. You might think this is only for the younger ones but I saw first-hand that even a girl that’s 10-going on-17 was immediately enamored with Rebecca and all of the Jewish holiday/tradition accessories.
Sarah doesn’t doesn’t play with dolls, yet I don’t think I have seen her in awe or smile like she did at a gift like when she opened Rebecca, a beautiful Russian-Jewish girl from 1914 decked out in the most gorgeous outfit. We also carefully unwrapped each accessory and I watched as she took such care to lay out the Shabbat set with challah, tea pot and cups, rugulah (a Jewish pastry and our personal favorite!). There’s also a parlor table with Shabbat candles made of real glass and fabric flowers, and Rebecca even has the cutest little kittens. We set everything out, played with it and Evan even got in on the action, playing tea time for nearly an hour the first day and many days since. I now clearly need a life-size version of this entire situation!
CHOCOLATE POOP MAKER
Annnndddd…. to do a complete 180 here, what kid doesn’t love talking poop! Ha, kids make me laugh so much. So gross and yet so funny, kids can make their own “poop” with this Chocolate Poop Maker. Yup! You melt the chocolate, “flush” it down the toilet, pour the chocolate into the molds and put in the fridge for a few minutes before adding any extra special touches. This chocolate poop maker by Jakks is definitely something funny any kid — and I think quite a few adults! — would appreciate.
I didn’t know llamacorns were thing until last year but now Sarah has pajamas, t-shirts and all the llamacorn things I didn’t even know could exist. I love how Build-A-Bear continues to come up with really creative options! This magical sequined llamacorn, which you can style with the cutest little shoes, bows and other accessories, is such a fun gift idea. They have dozens of such fun furry friends and let’s be honest, the outfits/accessories make it — I saw Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and more! Either surprise your little one with one already made (my dad did that for Sarah when she was born and it’s still one of our favorites), or give them a gift card and make it a experience you can enjoy together. You can now even add a voice to your favorite new furry friend!
POM POM BEANIE FROM JUSTICE
For those of you who live in cooler weather — or are traveling this season — Sarah and I both absolutely loved this adorable knit beanie from Justice, perfect on its own or gift it with a jacket, gloves, a gift card for hot chocolate, etc… you get the idea. Justice always has so many good gifts like cozy pjs, slippers and all the fun little accessories. We often stock up during their amazing sales.
Evan went immediately wild for this Gigantosaurus giganto dinosaur figure…. perhaps ripping it open before mama even said so out of sheer excitement. It’s been more than a week and he hasn’t stopped playing with it — and if you’re a mom, you know this is a victory! He loves making his mouth open and close, hearing it roar with a simple push of a button, and its super cool that a lot of the limbs move — definitely keeps him entertained for a while. It’s so good he even wanted a selfie with it (trust me that this means something BIG in my house)! Highly recommend for any little ones ages three and up.
LEADING THE WAY: WOMEN IN POWER
I’m constantly striving to show Sarah what it looks like to be a strong, kind, ambitious, and generous woman, and books are often a way to do it. This one, Leading the Way: Women in Power book, has 50 profiles of current and historical women in politics, with the goal to inspire this younger generation to spark interest in leadership, politics and more. What’s cool is that it’s a diverse mix of political affiliations, and backgrounds; nonwhite women make up almost half the bios. Plus, there’s a forward by Hillary Rodham Clinton. Love this as a gift to give your girl, a teacher to keep in her classroom, or anyone you know looking to make her mark.
Alright, well that’s what I have for you! So many great gift ideas, right? I’ll leave you with one last photo because Evan hijacked our photo shoot because he wanted to play with all the toys – understandable! – and then said, “everyone laugh!” Is he mocking my awkward blogger giggle? Perhaps. Is this the cutest photo ever demonstrating pure joy all around? One hundred percent. Wishing everyone the happiest of holidays and reminding you amidst the gift giving, remember to focus on the love, the smiles, the moments together and joy as big as this little man has to offer.
Thank you to BabbleBoxx for sponsoring today’s Hanukkah gifts post. As always, all opinions are 100 percent my own.
