What to Wear for NYE House Party

When it comes to New Year’s Eve I must confess that I’m typically the girl who prefers to stay in. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about fun cocktails and/or bubbly, dancing (in my kitchen or yours!), fun foods, friends and family, I just don’t find it necessary to do it up at a loud, crowded and over-priced place… particularly on a Tuesday this year. If you’re like me and prefer to invite friends over or go to someone’s house, it’s still fun to get a little festive with your NYE house party outfit.

So what do you wear to a NYE house party?

Easy peasy: Alllll the sequins!

I love, love, love a fun sequined top any time of year but there’s no better time than to ring in a New Year! I found this one at a steal at H&M and there are so many more way under $100 that I’m sharing below. You can easily pair it with blue or white denim, wear flats (or heck, uggs or flip flops — no judgement zone here!) but I couldn’t resist donning a pair of my favorite dark red pumps… even if they’d be tossed by a front door about .02 seconds after I walk in the door. I’m OK with that.  For bonus points, throw on a fun piece of jewelry like a pair of big earrings (I’m very into hoops these days!) and you’re ready to go.
