I’m back with another Trunk Club review— the subscription box service provided by Nordstrom (free for cardholders, or a small fee that’s credited to any purchase) and has been a fun way to step out of my style comfort zone.
I’ve received lots of questions from my previous Trunk Club review, all of which primarily fall into these two categories:
- Budget: sure there are plenty of pricey items at Nordstrom but what I love about Trunk Club is that you tell your stylist your parameters, including budget. I told mine I will never, ever buy a top that’s over $100 regardless of how amazing so she doesn’t include that anymore. Be honest with your stylist; maybe you’re willing to invest in a blazer but you refuse to spend more than $75 on jeans. Tell her.
- What’s in the trunk: every single person’s trunk is different. For example, I’m in Florida so I don’t want sweaters and heavy clothes. I see other women test puffer jackets and booties, for example. You can also tell your stylist that you need a “work wardrobe refresh” or want one more tailored toward weekend wear or athleisure, or a family trip to the Keys. You can also specifically request items you see on the Nordstrom site — a great way I think to test without buying it first! Then, the best part, you go to the Trunk Club web site to preview your trunk, including prices, etc. This way if you own something similar, hate the item, etc., you can remove it and request something else. I always, always take advantage of this step!
So here is what’s in my winter Trunk Club Review:
If you’re interested in a video review, pop over to my Instagram stories (@themodernsavvy) where I’ll be sharing on Friday.
My favorite outfit // Madewell bubble sleeve top (LOVE & on sale – keeping!) // jeans (nearly identical from Madewell) // black heels
Perfect for weekends / casual days (yup, those slides are velvet!!)
Striped long-sleeve top (available in four colors) // jeans (nearly identical from Madewell) // velvet slip-on sneakers // crossbody (comes in three colors)
Sorry for the terrible quality below but this striped situation looked so bad that I didn’t even snap a photo; this is a screen shot from a video. 😉
Black blazer (SO comfy & stretchy – kept it!!) // long-sleeve tee (on sale) // button-front jeans (do not care for the wash/distressing)
Party must-have! // sequin dress (Gorgeous, flattering & you can wear a real bra! Runs TTS; wearing size 2) // black heels
Fun & on trend: drawstring purse (fun dressed up or with jeans and a top)
