Do you have colors on your “refuse to wear” list? Yellow, along with orange, and many shades of green and red, have been on mine for my 38 years. In fact, for as much as I wear pink now, I don’t think I wore one article of pink clothing from the time I was four until I was 28! We get in our heads something will look bad on us, when it’s really about finding the shade or style that could look best for us. Now I’m pink obsessed. And, I have even added a few pieces of red and green into my wardrobe — colors that often look fantastic on redheads.
Yellow is another big one for me but I got another yellow dress for my cruise (this cutie) and then I stumbled across this breezy dress in Target, and well, you know how the story goes in Target. 😉
First, my biggest tip: there is no financial commitment by taking an item into a fitting room. You can try on a style or color out of comfort zone and all it costs you is about two minutes of your time. That’s it. So, have fun with style and at least try on something and then decide.
This cute yellow dress by the way is part of Target’s newer Universal Thread collection (FYI: it’s basically a Madewell knock-off, so Madewell vibes for less), and there are some serious gems in the collection, t-shirts included (I have two and can vouch for the quality, and I also just ordered these insanely cute bow slides to check out).
Must talk about these gorgeous earrings for a moment… they’re from my local favorite designer that many of you now know, Alexandra Gioia. Makes me so happy that you love her jewelry as much as I do because well, it’s gorgeous, and two… Allie is the kindest, and I love supporting talented women making great products. Definitely worth checking out her online Etsy boutique; could be a good mother’s day gift, too!
