Consider this “basic,”… I’m OK with that. I ordered this popular ruched black midi dress dress after seeing it pop up on Instagram no less than 12,603 times this past year dressed up and down, and styled a million ways.
The hype is worthy: this sleeveless, under $60 dress (in long sleeve here) comes in more than a half-dozen colors, is super flattering, comfortable, has nearly 1,300 five star reviews, and truth: easy to style however suits you. Play with your jewelry, your footwear, layer this black midi dress up with a long cardigan or sleeveless trench… seriously, the style options are endless. I can see why people get multiples.
For fun, here are two ways I have recently worn my black midi dress. I’m also a big fan of layering it with a longer cardigan — especially daytime — since it is fitted in the back; this way you get quality tush coverage with a subtly sexy look.

February 16, 2018 at 12:12 PMWow, I actually have this dress but didn’t know it was a “blogger favorite” 🙂 I’ve only worn the dress on special occasions (wore it to a wedding last time), but your post made me think about wearing it in the daytime. The skirt part is a bit tight, especially for work, but I suppose a loose cardigan on top could do the trick. I’ll have to try it!

February 20, 2018 at 9:42 PMHey Jess… fun idea to dress it up more, too! Funny enough I hadn’t considering being able to dress it up more than date night so I’ll have to play around with it, and YES… definitely try it with a longer cardigan; it looks SO cute that way.
