Modern Savvy Home: The White Vase

I’ve been doing a lot of work around my house — and I’m excited to starting sharing here some of our rooms, and what I’m learning along the way. Sound good? The goal in our home has been to create or update spaces, and really create a serene, yet lively and more cohesive home (that’s also family friendly). I’ve been decluttering a lot of tchotchkes/knick knacks, and instead option for fewer, more impactful items.  I’m finishing up our master bedroom and am excited to share it with you; in the meantime, here’s one of the biggest (duh) discoveries… the white vase!

Stick with me here. Home decor a few years ago definitely starting coming back to light and bright whites and greys, sometimes meaning updating entire spaces and others, simply refreshing accessories to renew a room.  I recently added a few white vases and absolutely love how they’ve freshened up and added a cool new element to a few spots, including the entry table you see in the photo above. I’ve had fun picking up fresh flowers (those are called Bells of Ireland on the left), otherwise pop in two of these faux palm leafs.

PS: see the peonies and orchid above? They’re faux! I have the orchid and can attest to how awesome it looks in person. It’s also been a great way to add some height to our room (it rotates between our family room and the living room), and this black thumb over here doesn’t have to worry about killing it.
