Two big trends that have emerged for spring that yup, we can supposedly wear out in public in “modern savvy” ways are the pajamas trend and the athletic wear look (like athletic looking trousers). I don’t know about you but even though I think I’m decently stylish, I’d also feel like a fool wearing a silky blouse and pants set out for a stroll at the mall. Some girls can totally work it, but not this one. There are so many more versatile ways to work the trend — in more timeless ways — like this super soft striped button down. It has the pajamas-esque vibe, with a more loungy and less structured vibe. A button down like this one from H&M can get a lot of wardrobe mileage regardless of your current life phase… and proof is coming your way…
How to wear a pajamas-style blouse:
*With Blue or White Denim
*Tucked into a pencil skirt
*With cut-off denim shorts in the summer
*Half open as a bathing suit cover-up
*Under a sweater in cooler weather
In addition to the blouse I’m wearing, a few other budget-friendly finds from H&M include this, this and this.
These fab earrings are from SUGARFIX, the new brand by BaubleBar now at Target featured in this month’s Alyson’s Obsessions.
Blouse: H&M // Denim: Articles of Society (if you’re between sizes, size down… they’re soft and stretchy) // Flats: Tory Burch (my favorites & SO comfy; also available here in 15+ colors) // Tote: Ann Taylor (older; similar under $50)// Ring: BaubleBar // Earrings: SugarFix // Bracelet: David Yurman
