Even though it’s summer, where everything is all about the brights, it’s nice to stick to easy neutrals like this black and cream swingy bargain babe (that has pockets!). I saw a few bloggers raving about this under $35 find that comes in 13 colors so I figured… why not? (thanks, peer pressure!). I’m thrilled with the purchase though… a dress like this works for my many lives: work, weekend, mom, all of it. Plus, it’s super light weight, which works when it feels like you’re standing on the sun in Florida (seriously, so hot out).
You can opt for a solid, which would also transform itself for many lives. In all cases, style a dress like this with block wedges as I did, with flip flops, with strappier flats, and even booties as fall approaches. This brand, Socialyte, is newer to me but all their mostly under $40 dresses and tees have great reviews on Nordstrom’s site. Scroll down to see a few swingy finds; they all come in multiple colors and prints, and some have casual/on-trend strappy details that are really cute.
Dress: Socialyte via Nordstrom // Jacket: H&M (old, similar) // Heels: French Connection (similar & on sale) // Earrings: Kendra Scott // Necklace: Alexandra Gioia // Bracelet: Kate Spade (try this or this) // Ring: BaubleBar // Purse: Ann Taylor (old, similar)
More swingy dress finds (all under $50)
And yeah… this is the faux, “hey there!” face I wind up making when my photographer, Alissa, says to look “over that way.” My coolness in front of the camera clearly needs a little work. Have a great week ladies, and keep it real. 🙂

July 13, 2016 at 5:54 PMLoving this dress on you and these photos are so fun! I have a striped t-shirt dress, but like the idea of a swingy sleeveless option, so will definitely be checking this out. Wondering what size you got and if sizing up would give me some extra length?

July 13, 2016 at 6:11 PMTotally! I’m wearing a small; I didn’t try on the other sizes so I can’t vouch for going up in size however the drapey style could give you the flexibility to size up without it looking oversized.
