Despite living in Florida where it’s regularly 94 degrees outside, I could easily wear denim year round. Until last summer. Then, I would get so hot, toting around two kids plus grocery bags and everything that it made it all but impossible to wear a little less in an age appropriate way.
I’m admittedly not the girl who ever paid attention to the inseams of shorts but it matters. For me, I’m all about a 4″ inseam; you’ll see 2.5 and honestly that’s really short for most girls unless you want some cheek to hang out as you bend over (yikes). This pair by Pilco, purchased recently during the Anthropologie 25% sale, has bee on major weekend repeat. I’m impressed by the $58 price tag (Anthro could have easily charged $98) and this creamy white with a slightly slouchy vibe is easy to wear with everything. They come in nearly a dozen colors.
And speaking of mixing things up; this shirt is a bit of a boho departure from my usual but I couldn’t resist it during a recent trip to J. Crew Factory, which has 50% off the entire store this weekend (this is now $30). I know I always say this but J. Crew Factory is undoubtedly one of my top three stores for my entire family — the look of J. Crew for a bargain price — is always a win.
Blouse: J. Crew Factory // Shorts: Pilcro from Anthropologie (comes in nearly a dozen colors; I’m wearing a size 4) // Sandals: Old Navy ($15) // Purse: Street Level (reversible & under $50; adorable smaller version with a cross-body strap and more from this brand with great reviews here) // Tassel Bracelets: c/o Gold & Gray // Watch: Shinola
PS: sandal victory… someone asked me if these were Mansur Gavriel sandals; yup, ones that cost $350… I got mine on sale for $11 and they’re now just $15. The faux leather is that good.
