I’m all about honesty and transparency over here and when it comes to the weekends, it’s gym time for me. Eventually I’ll wind up in some sort of presentable outfit, one you might even see here or on social media, but until about 2 pm each Saturday and Sunday, you’ll often find me in gym clothes.
Even if I don’t work out early, I put the clothes on because it commits me going to there. Is there anything worse in life than taking off your gym clothes after NOT working out? The worst; I’ll feel like such a lazy failure that I coerce myself into getting there.
My favorite gym brands are Lululemon, Athleta, Zella and Old Navy. I also love Beyond Yoga and Alo for more athleisure wear. Oh, and seriously: Forever 21 makes some of the cutest stuff (don’t knock it until you look). I have two sports bras that I’m thrilled with, and I have 2-3 friends super happy with its stylish athletic wear, all under $20-$30.
At the same time, I recognize some of these brands are spendy and I do have my limits however working out in well-fitting, flattering gym clothes makes a difference. Swear it. I discovered this about three years ago when my husband got me my first pair of Lululemon pants (about $30 less than they charge now). The luon/lycra held my tush in — and I swear up! — and flattered me in a way less expensive versions never did. I felt more confident and immediately more excited to get to the gym. That little personal investment is worth it. Wait for one of these brands to have a sale (I often do)… it’s worth it. And, please comment below if there are other brands you love to get your move on.
So I actually get too sweaty to work out in a tee like this BUT — after I go to the gym I usually swap my tank for one like this cutie from Old Navy if I’m grabbing food with my family, running to Publix or a few errands. It’s a fresh shirt, looks cute, isn’t too tight and let’s me cool off while I’m out and about. Old Navy has been my go-to for stylish athletic wear… I love their tees with sayings, cozy tops, and they’ve upped their quality on their leggings as well! I recently recommended them to a friend.
Tee: Old Navy // Shorts: Lululemon “drop it low” short (similar for less) // Sneakers: Brooks Ghost // Socks: Balega (love these with the tabbed ankles to present slipping) // Waterbottle: Lifefactory
I tried being sporty… is this post getting awkward yet? 🙂
And, yeah, seriously, I’m the most awkward jumper alive (this is about 40 takes later when my sweet photog, Alissa, had to give me instructions! #coversherfaceinshame). We can’t be winners at everything! For your amusement only…

This is a super cute outfit, budget work out clothes mixed up with the pricier side. I love graphic tops for working out. Super sassy.

Good for you with the glass water bottle. I think plastic water bottles are the absolute devil!

May 18, 2016 at 3:43 PMTotally! I absolutely love Forever 21’s finds — the quality has been so good for the price point (especially the sports bras!). It’s incredible the powerful mental feeling you also get from sweating it out… so good.

May 18, 2016 at 9:42 AMI also do a lot of my workouts over the weekend. Love your cute workout outfit and I agree, some of the more expensive brands are a whoooole lot better at keeping you all in. I swear my ridiculously expensive sweaty betty pants for that reason!

May 18, 2016 at 6:22 AMIt’s a cute look! I usually roll into the store post workout in my still drenched shirt hahah should probably swap it out so I don’t offend others with the stink heh.
I love the tank! Also Zella leggings are my faves, so awesome and not too expensive!

May 18, 2016 at 3:45 PMExactly… Zella leggings are such good bang for the buck. ANd, I’m sure you’re not the only one keeping the same shirt on… I’m SO sweaty my daughter literally won’t go out with me that it gets me to change. Love putting on these fun $1-$15 tanks as I cool off.
