Mother’s Day is this Sunday (holla!) and one of the biggest indulgences — after sleeping! — is a sweet treat and cup of coffee in bed. Of course you don’t need to be a mama to appreciate, just forward this article to your guy or roomie and encourage them to get cooking. That’s what friends are for.
Bringing breakfast in bed has become a tradition in our house for fun holidays and birthdays and since we have little ones super easy recipes are key. We’re also not above some semi-homemade this way the little ones can get in on the fun, and not destroy our kitchen in the process.
There’s a few things that will make this much smoother: get a good tray! Also, select a dish that doesn’t require a lot of separate ingredients (i.e. potatoes falling where on the bed is a mess) and one that won’t make a mess on your sheets. If so, YOLO!
Bagel Quiche (genius! How have I never thought of this?!)
Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon (my personal fav — add a runny egg on top!)
Strawberry Pancake Skewers (so cute to get the little ones involved)
Panini with Chocolate Hazelnut Spread and Bananas (amazingly indulgent!)
Strawberry Baked Donuts with Strawberry Glaze (need a donut pan ASAP)
Egg in Hole + Sweet Potato Breakfast Fries (all of this, please)
Hot Apple Pie Pancakes (And, it’s not even bad for you; I mean…)
Cinnamon Quinoa Breakfast Bowl (for the healthy mama; this looks delish!)
Breakfast Enchilada Bake (perfect for the whole family)
Easy Low-Fat Yogurt Parfait (easy way to show effort, and so cute in a clear cup)
Avocado Toast with a Fried Egg (easy and totally perfect. Breakfast for dinner, anyone?)
