Outfit: Work Day Denim

I know some of you have been asking for more work appropriate looks (I just loooove my jeans) so here’s a recent look that can work in most office settings, with pieces that can also transition to nearly any other environment. Imagine wearing this bargain pullover with white denim, with cut-offs in the summer, over a bathing suit or even layered under a sweater. Since I’m not a big button down girl, I’ve been on the hunt for just the right denim popover since last year — without spending $100 on a similar J. Crew version — and this one perfectly fits the bill.

As I alluded in yesterday’s “what’s in my bag” post, I have been using this smaller cross body from Ann Taylor (this season’s style here) for daytime albeit my shock that things would fit… they do! Yeah, I can’t stuff my big work notepad in here like I do my tote but this smaller size also prevents me from loading up on junk, plus it’s lighter and more portable, and even works for most nights out. I’m really loving this, this or this similar styles.

Can we talk about my friendship bracelet watch for a second? It’s from one of my oldest, most favorite friends, Dori, who surprised me (and has a matching one). I’m absolutely one for sentiment any day, so I can’t even begin to express how special this is… plus, it’s so cute, fun and a conversation starter! I’ve gotten so many compliments. A good reminder that surprising someone can be pretty awesome (thanks again, Dor!).
