I’ve been intrigued about wide leg trousers for ages but haven’t wanted to spend money because I couldn’t tell if I could pull it off with my 5’3 inch frame. Plus, did I look ridiculous? I always thought other girls looked chic and pulled together so when I spied another woman holding these up during a recent Target visit I immediately had to walk up, initiate conversation and find my size. I had my son so I tossed them in my cart and figured I’d test them at home. If you follow me on Snapchat you saw my awkward banter wondering if they were OK and since a few of you replied with a yes, here they are! I’m digging them, and the fact that Alice & Olivia has a pair for about 20 times the price, I’m pretty pumped about my find.
With a wider leg pant that hits higher at your natural waist, I find it flattering to show off your waist since it’s your smallest part, and not to overwhelm your top half with material. That said, this could also look cute in cooler climates with a chunky night sweater; just be sure it doesn’t hit below your hips.
PS: I’m a sucker for white blouses and tees in a mega way so I couldn’t help but take home this lacy blouse from the new Who What Wear collection at Target that’s an extension of the uber popular style web site. There are so many good pieces (more here) in regular and plus sizes. I’m really impressed with the collection and will be excited to see how it evolves.
