Gold is back, baby. Well, it’s been back for a while, first in jewelry and then in some home accents, and now in your home in a much bigger way. One of my favorite ways to integrate a gold or brass is to update your kitchen or bathroom knobs or pulls with some fantastic hardware. I’m currently working with a talented local decorator and friend, Brianna, for a number of spaces in my home, including my kitchen, and we’re both completely smitten over this easy, affordable change that is majorly updating and transforming spaces. I cannot wait to update my brushed silver to brass. Yipeee! I’m so obsessed I can’t stand it.
How to make it work in your space? Notice below that whites, greys and navys are taking center stage with the brass. If you don’t have the budget for a major gut job (don’t worry, me neither!), we had our kitchen cabinets repainted white last year and the result has been awesome, and at a major, major fraction of the price. It’s helping off-set a remodel while we focus on other areas. Even if you’re not ready to make a brass change but want an update, look into new hardware for your cabinets — it honestly makes such a difference everywhere from your kitchen and bathroom to that IKEA/Target boxed furniture feel refreshed, custom and special.
