What to Wear in Punta Cana: 8 Vacation-Ready Outfits

Two piece striped set (an Amazon Prime find!)

You might have seen on social media that I was in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic earlier this month — it was an amazing getaway with one of my absolute best friends, Adele, to celebrate her 40th birthday. We stayed at Zoetry, a beautiful and relaxing all-inclusive, and had the best time doing a lot of nothing!

I thought it would be fun to share with you what I wore in Punta Cana to give you some inspiration as you’re planning any getaways. I brought a mix of old closet favorites — I’m including links to similar newer options below — along with a few new spring pieces, many of which are mega budget buys (Amazon Prime FTW!)!

I only took iPhone photos (sorry!) because this was a vacation with my bestie and not a work trip, however I’m hopeful Adele’s mad photog skills (I owe her!) give you a good glimpse at my outfits — casual, comfy and cute, with basically the same two accessories the entire weekend: these wedges (I want another pair in white or blush!) and this fun tassel purse. You can also add a tassel like this one to any purse or tote you already own — such a cute idea! For a tote, I’m very into this under $50 option.

I’m also working on a post about what to pack for a sunshine-filled vacation so comment below or email me if you have any specific questions. So many stores are now sharing spring collections so the inventory and options are quickly expanding.

Ok, so here’s what to wear in Punta Cana.

Travel outfit: Denim jacket (older; loving this slightly distressed one) // J. Crew Factory white tee (also love Madewell and Something Navy tees) // Spanx camo leggings // Brooks sneakers // Cuyana leather tote

PS: that’s a jumbo scarf in my bag, even though I was heading to the Dominican. I have the same one in cream, and I’m shocked how often I use it; so soft, perfect for cold weather and great for travel because it’s so soft for a pillow, to wrap around you, even in a hotel room. The newer version has the cutest tassels, and is on sale in three colors.

Gibson x Hi Sugarplum romper (almost sold out; also love this and this one – wear these as cover-ups, for a casual day sight-seeing or dress up with wedges) // Tkees flip flops (a little splurge but they’re real leather, & I found lots of colored ones on major sale at Nordstrom Rack (amazing price!) // purse // star necklace

My favorite what to wear in Punta Cana outfit… and an Amazon Prime find!

Two piece set under $25 (wearing size small) // purse // Treasure & Bond wedges // Lilly Pulitzer hoops

This is the amazing bluetooth, waterproof and portable speaker I mentioned in Alyson’s Favorites post the other day. Perfect for walking around, your hotel room, and livening up any bar scene. 😉 And that’s the Dominican drink called a Mamajuana with rum, red wine and honey that my bro told me we had to try… I couldn’t have more than a mini sip (I’m more of a vodka or gin girl… and maybe also a #wimp).

Another cutie Amazon Prime find! This pom pom cover-up comes in a ton of colors and is one size fits all. As you can see it’s a little sheer but it’s the cutest. There’s also a tassel option here.

My favorite swim suit of the season! This palm print bikini has the cutest wrap-around detail and is super flattering. For a really cute palm print one-piece option, try here. Love this one. (Bruises not included with either one).

Pink maxi dress (super old; similar here) — love the idea of tying it at the hem, thanks Instagram for the idea! // Treasure & Bond wedges // Lilly Pulitzer hoops // Purse (same one with tassels)

And never forget a good beach read!

Books: Girl, Stop Apologizing (advance copy; pre-order here, or first read Girl, Wash Your Face) and for a juicier, super easy read, we both loved When Life Gives You Lululemons

One more glasses of a refreshing tea… and then it was time to head back to reality! Until next time…

I love all of this! I also really love the price points you posted these items for because they feel really, actually possible to get! I hate it when I see something for like a basic beach weekend and then it’s $400!

Oh my goodness, right? I don’t have the budget for things like that to only wear a handful of times. Amazon for the win!
