Do you ever have moments where some stores fall off your radar for no apparent reason and then bam, something brings you back and you wonder what hole you’ve been hiding in? I must confess that happened recently with Ann Taylor and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing. I’m excited to be partnering with them for this post because — wow — as soon as I stopped in the Town Center in Boca Raton, Fla. store, I realized my wardrobe could benefit from so much.
I saw everything from beautiful dresses (this one is on my wish list), alllll the leopard, gorgeous tops that would seriously upgrade my current tee situation, and all the accessories if you that “one thing” to complete or add sparkle to a holiday outfit. You know what I mean, right? Note my headband as an example… obsessed. Oh, and AT’s earring situation caught my eye… how pretty are these, these and these? Oh, and look at its shoe collection (or don’t if you have zero self control, lol).
So to today’s outfit…. let’s talk about these black velvet pants. Seriously, I call them happy pants because I felt insanely happy as soon as I put them on! I hate to be extreme when I talk about clothes but as soon as I tried these gorgeous wide leg black velvet pants on at Ann Taylor, but it was love. I don’t have much that’s somewhere between fancy dresses or work dresses and jeans, and this immediately fits the bill… plus, they’re also incredibly comfortable for a family or holiday gathering! Winning. As a heads up, they run big… I’m wearing a size 0 and even have room; to be clear, I am not a size 0. They also come in petite, and though I’m 5’3, I opted for the regular version with heels for a longer leg line.
Also this fabulous “necklace tee” also comes in black and is a fantastic wardrobe staple. You can just as easily pair it with blue or black denim (these with lace at the bottom are awesome), with burgundy velvet skinny pants, or tucked into a pencil skirt, etc. Plus, the price is great, particularly with the current sale. For other tops, I’m also a huge fan of this black one with velvet leopard shaped spots and this v-neck leopard top with good upper arm coverage that I can see wearing to everything from date night to work meetings.
Have fun this season with holidays and don’t stress about your outfit. Add a little sparkle or glam (think velvet, jewels, shoes, etc) and focus on the fabulous company you’re with.
