What’s not to love about a long cardigan? It instantly pulls together an outfit, can look casually cool, and covers the bum. Sold! One in every color, please.

Yup, you definitely might need to test out some styles and lengths based on your height and body type — for example, ones longer than this can be hard for me to pull off. This long cardigan, in a neutral grey, has become a clear winner for myself and for a number of friends. Equally love it in a rich burgundy, a solid black, blush pink or classic navy.

A cardigan is a natural with a pair of pants (I love this one with a basic white tee and black denim, for example). To mix it up, check out how to style your long cardigan with your skirt (or similar length dress). To keep proportions in check, avoid a too baggy top that can make you look bigger than you are.
