Pencil Skirt & Tee Combo for Fall

You know when you get a catalog in the mail or email marketing and you immediately NEED the outfit you see? That’s exactly how I felt after seeing this sassy and totally cute “stay chic” tee paired with an olive green button down pencil skirt that felt so chic pulled together, and also two items with infinite closet possibilities. Would you guessed its from Talbot’s?

I’ve been noticing Talbot’s catering to a slightly younger demographic lately… i.e. my/our age category. 😉 Well, maybe I’m also getting a bit older (shhh!) but the freshened up vibe evidenced by this outfit is totally what I’m talking about. I’m loving a number of items from its early fall collection, and seriously, check out the shoes (these booties are so stinkin’ cute).

Anyhoo, I have desperately needed to update my skirt situation (have you noticed I rarely wear them?) and this buttoned down pencil skirt has been the best addition heading into fall. As it gets cooler pair it with a chunky knit or a silky blouse and definitely with booties or boots.

By the way, you’ll likely notice in half the photos the tucked-in tee, and the other half the knotted tee. I did that impulsively to mix it up and immediately decided I LOVED it so much more. I went for happy hour after and kept on this tee, knotted, with high waisted denim and if I can say so myself, it’s was a pretty cute look.
