Wearing Leggings Like Real Pants

Isn’t that the dream? Well maybe not THE dream, but certainly wearing comfy leggings all day long is pretty darn good…. as long as you’re doing it appropriately. I tend to reserve my real workout clothes for actually working out — making myself feel guilty if I don’t get to the gym — but the athleisure trend has definitely created an entirely new range of apparel perfect for running around, travel and even cozy nights in.

And, wearing leggings like real pants is certainly a treat (when I don’t have meetings!).

A few ways to make it work: avoid wearing your gym sneakers; go for something like these adidas superstars, a chic pair of black Nikes, a fun sporty sneaker option, or even this fun, budget-friendly pair.  Look for a legging, not a capri, and leave the workout tops at home. Go for one of your tees, or a slouchy style, even with some cut-out details, or an oversized logo. As it gets cooler, pair a fun moto jacket, a cargo jacket, soft oversized cardigan or denim jacket. And embrace the trend… go for a topknot hair ‘do, little or no makeup, and feel comfy and stylish as you’re out and about!

PS: I know it’s still nine million degrees in Florida however I couldn’t help but show you how this moto jacket can even go casual. I picked this up during the Nordstrom sale and I’m SO in love! I borrowed Kim’s during our entire Nashville girls weekend, and felt confident in the splurge. So excited for cooler weather.
