Outfit: Casual Spring Work Style

An easy to copy look for casual spring work days

Spring and summer style tends to be more casual and breezy than winter style, and it’s easy for that style philosophy to creep into the workplace. It’s important to find the balance, recognizing some items that can go from weekend to work. This pretty pale pink sweatshirt from LOFT is the perfect example. I’m wearing a size small, though I could have easily purchased a medium for a more relaxed, weekend only vibe (and I’m considering that for the white one!). You can also layer on a dressy necklace, pair it with black trousers or do a half-tuck into a pencil skirt for a fresh spring look.

Of course this won’t work in all office settings, however in many it does… mine included (especially since I’m now working from a home office!)…. and an easy swap of the espadrille wedges (a new favorite; remember this post with all that how-to-wear inspiration?) to a nude heel makes it even more professional.

PS: looking for more spring style inspiration? If you’re local to me, join me next Wednesday, April 19th for a panel discussion and fashions how with Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County (an awesome nonprofit I’m involved with). It’s all happening at the Palm Beach Outlets — no pressure, but I would love to meet & see you… and I promise it will be lots of fun with professional style inspiration for all shapes and sizes! All about “dressier” sweatshirts! Sometimes you just want to be comfy, but you still need to look put together. This look is perfect for those days!

I love pink and navy together. I definitely don’t wear this combination often enough!
