Cute Casual Valentine’s Day Outfit

The blush color crush is real you guys. The color is everywhere and I’m adding to it. In addition to today’s outfit — which totally works as a casual cute Valentine’s outfit that’s not at all cheesy — I’ll be sharing next week more blush/pale pink, and how you can easily integrate it into your style.

When it comes to Valentine’s Day and the entire month of February, you can definitely opt to go bold with a fab bright red — get it girl! — though pale pink is another gorgeous way to embrace the month of love without the hearts and red.

The muted blush color is universally flattering… well nearly. It’s all about finding the right hue for you! For example, some muted shades completely wash out my skin and give me this meh ruddy complexion, while others that are slightly pinker or have more of a blue undertone can my skin and eyes pop. Take the time to find the shade that works for you. It will make such an impact.

A few notes about today’s casual Valentine’s Day outfit:

Lace-up top: The perfect solution if you’re like me and not really into a button down blouse. I love, love this blouse (I’m wearing a S, but probably could have sized down to XS) because it’s one of those blouses that can work as well casual like this, as it can with slacks and heels, a skirt or cut-offs. Also, take stock at your whites right now… still white? Seriously, check the pits. Fit you well? If not, find one or two that can serve you well, whether it’s a great tee, a beautiful silk blouse or a breezy lace-up top like this one.

Pale pink denim: this pair is my new favorite, and will be in heavy rotation as the temperatures warm. Are you guys familiar with the brand, BlankNYC? They’re by far one of my favorite under $100 denim brands, always with that designer denim vibe for at least $100 less than the others. This cropped pair with slight distressing is modern and mature, without being “old.”

Espadrilles: I’m seriously OBSESSED. They seriously make me mega smile every time I see them. The denim patchwork, the espadrille base, the seriously cute vibe…. gah, I’m a little giggly (I know, I’m kind of a nerd!). These are by another brand favorite, Soludos, which makes the best espadrilles. As much as I love some of the more intricate lace-up sandals out there (and these come as a lace-up option, too), I realized I always ultimately gravitate toward the pairs I can slip on as my kids are screaming, or as I’m racing out the door.  Shop the brand at Nordstrom or Shopbop.
