Mother Daughter Style in Black Denim

Mother Daughter Style in Black Denim

Sarah and I both have an affinity for black denim. Sarah definitely has a bit of a rocker, cool girl vibe, in all of her outfits (remember her love of her leather moto??), and I love wearing black and grey denim in the fall. For those of you in warmer climates struggling to embrace a fall wardrobe — trust me, I get it! — adding a darker denim is an easy way to give you that vibe. Olive green, burgundy & other jewel tones easily create a fall look without the layers. At the same time, these muted pinks are such a beautiful fall contrast and kind of girl-ify any look. My blouse is part of the Target Who What Wear collection (SO good, if you haven’t scoped it out yet!), and while it’s now sold out, I’m linking below to a few other affordable pink ruffle blouses.

As for Sarah, she picked out her entire look, including these cool-as-heck sneakers she saw at Target during a recent trip. My girl clearly loves a good Tar-jay impulse purchase as much as her mama. 🙂 I’ve found the Target sneaks and flats serve us well, and are a great price point. Her feet are growing so quickly (she’s a 1.5) so we tend to only have a few months of wear before we’re on to our next pair anyway.

Here’s a close-up of my favorite black booties. The thicker heel make them easy on my feet (seriously, I just hauled around Washington D.C. in them!) and equally love with them dresses and tights.

Can you tell I adore her to pieces?! 🙂 I’m not a “helicopter mom” but I’m clearly a sMOTHERer!

Love those sneakers! They are a fun pick, and it just goes to show that we should stop shopping in Target, because we can never leave with only what we came in for!

Sometimes I’m pretty envious of the warmer climate fall – it would be nice to wear a short sleeve and be okay.
