Outfit: Real Girl Work Wear

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve really honed in on my personal style. I still have a long way to go but I know that I’m a girl who loves all things “cozy chic.” It’s kind of my personals style mantra. While I love dressing up once in a while, I’m most comfortable in a pair of flats, and denim if I have the choice. When it comes to a work day that involves meetings, I often gravitate toward a pair of pair of pants, and typically have had luck at LOFT and J. Crew / J. Crew Factory over the years. This pair, from LOFT, are at least two years old but still look perfectly new and the wide leg is a departure from my typical skinny pant style.  LOFT currently has 50% online and in store today, too.

While this might not be your vibe, try to hone in on the clothes that make you look & feel your best, and embrace it. Some girls live for pencil skirts & monster high heels. I swear I used to be such a high heel girl but I’m way clumsy, and try to walk faster than I should, so pointy toe flats generally give me the look without the heel height to slow me down.

With personal style, it’s fun to embrace a few seasonal trends. For example, I’m such a stripes girl and this blouse with its ruffled detail (it’s all about the romantic details this season… ruffles, bell sleeves, lace, off-the-shoulder, etc) gives the look with a more structured style ideal for the work place (though I’d totally rock it with black denim and heels for a date night).
