Refreshing recipe for a tropical Green Recipe // The Modern Savvy

Happy Monday! Michelle from favorite, Cupcakes, Cocktails & Kids is back delivering another power-packed recipe, this time a creative take on the popular green smoothie. I love the mix of ingredients sure to kick your week into high gear, and that she poured it over ice.

Keep us posted the type of recipes you’re seeking — MIchelle, a mom, talented graphic designer and cocktail-enthusiast — is here monthly delivering what you want most. Do you love the range of drinks (like last months spiked salty hot chocolate!), or if you’re a gal who needs more options for easy entertaining, for getting family dinner on the table quick, or are creating a satisfying, healthy dish. Comment, email, or mention on social… would love to deliver what you’re searching for.

In the meantime, enjoy Michelle’s Tropical Green Smoothie!

Tropical Green Smoothie {Makes 2 large glasses}
Ingredients:
A handful of your fave greens {I did a mix of kale + spinach + mint}
1/2 cup of fresh mango chunks
1/2 cup of pineapple {can use frozen}
1/2 a frozen banana
1/2 a kiwi
The juice of 1/2 a grapefruit + zest {slice and save the other half for garnish}
1.5 cups of cold coconut water {if you want a thicker milkshake like smoothie you can sub with coconut milk}.
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in your blender or Nutribullet and pulse until velvety smooth. Pour over ice and garnish with a grapefruit wedge and fresh mint and enjoy!
