Outfit: Party Skirt Two Ways

How to Style your Party Skirt

When it comes to December, anything goes style-wise. It’s fun to bust out our most festive clothes for holiday parties, cocktail receptions, and then, just because. Why not, right?! I’m here today to prove that you don’t need to save that party dress or skirt for only a few occasions.

This skirt is from J. McLaughlin, a brand I discovered last year when they invited area bloggers to its store on Palm Beach. While some pieces are little preppier than my usual (and admittedly a little pricier), I have been blown away by the beautifully constructed quality, and classic silhouettes.  I’m super careful about what I share here because I know affordable, quality fashion is key; I also know when to invest. I’ve seen women spend a lot on pieces that fall apart or simply don’t last quality or style wise; these will stand the test of time. Plus, how beautiful is this skirt, and the metallic detail in this sweater?

For a more casual vibe, simply add denim; instead of a denim button down (since it’s 90 degrees here!), I paired this skirt with my new favorite, mega Forever 21 find. I’ve worn it no less than three times over the weekend. In cooler climates, add a chunky knit (love ivory) with tights.

To take this from work to one of your after-work parties, I just swapped out my tote (it’s reversible) for my go-to black clutch/cross body.

The skirt is gorgeous and perfect for the holidays! I love how you paired it with the denim shirt. You could really style it so many different ways.

I love the velvet pattern on the skirt, it makes it really special, but it’s still a classic piece in a silhouette that is never going out of style.

I love the necklace in the first outfit, but I love love love the color combination of the second one. The blue makes it pop and look amazing!
