Outfit: Holiday Weekend

Happy Labor Day weekend! So ready to embrace the last weekend of the summer with fun in the sun, brights, rompers, cut offs, ice coffees, Florida Gators football, a good read, BBQ, hopefully a little R&R, family, friends and all that good stuff.

Being a Florida girl, and one that lives near Palm Beach, Lilly Pulitzer is pretty prolific. I love brights and bold prints but somehow her more coastal vibe wasn’t for me. Then, a few years ago, I started seeing prints more prints I’d love, comfy cute pieces like the linen beach pants, and all the great cottons and scalloped shorts. After my husband treated me to a cotton tank and scalloped shorts one Mother’s Day I wore here I was hooked. The tees cost a little more than others… but unlike all my others, this one stands up to repeated wear, doesn’t have tiny little holes in it (anyone else get those around their mid section?!) and the fit remains perfect. Anyway, the “palm reader” print on this romper is so fun, bright, and easy to wear. Style it casually with flip flops, or dress up with a white blazer and gold wedges.

Speaking of rompers, I now own two. The bathroom situation in a romper is pretty hysterical to me — I mean, hello nakedness! The visual I get each time cracks me up — yet beyond that, I am loving how they give you an entire look in one. Hop in and you’re done!

I’ve also recently been sampling, as part of Starbucks Coffee Blogger Community, some of brand’s newer iced beverages. The iced coffee with milk, and the s’mores frappuccino are my favorites. The s’mores tastes like the real deal; really satisfying to take a few sips after lunch or dinner as an evening sweet treat. I often like to keep these iced drinks in my office so they’re accessible from time to time for any afternoon slumps (faster/cheaper than a coffee run, though anyone else obsessed with Starbuck’s new cold brew?! So. Good. Order next time…. so smooth).

PS: Cut three inches off my hair since these pictures were taken — seeing the below validates the decision. I loved it with beachy waves but the straight wasn’t working. I’m loving the fresh bob!
